Our Curriculum is centred on developing children to be active citizens. We want our children to play an active role in shaping the world in which they live. This involves researching global issues influencing our children's lives and relating them to local issues that we can proactively change or develop. We want our children to be life long learners who have shaped the world in which we they live. We recognise that the job our children may not yet exist. Developing the pupil skills and knowledge for modern day Britain therefore forms an integral part of our curriculum. We aim to produce Active citizens who are empathetic, sympathetic, resilient, informed and and ready for the next stage in their education.

Inspire:
At Whitefield Community Primary School all learners are inspired through the relationship we have the outdoors. All our themes ensure that the children use the outdoors in order to provide a rich context to their learning experience. We offer a range of experiences from the more adventurous activities such as water sports and climbing to the more serene such as using the natural world to provide a platform to draw, paint and sketch. We offer a wide range of experiences throughout the school year from offsite school visits to visitors to school all aimed at enriching our curriculum. We build dens, make fires and hunt treasure to help us to ask questions, formulate conclusions and compile results.
Dream:
At Whitefield Community Primary School, we support each other’s dreams through the collaborative work we undertake. We work collaboratively across different contexts in order to draw on each other’s strengths and support each other’s developments. We work in groups, across key stages and with other schools in order to challenge views and opinions. We recognise that this is a valuable part of the learning process. We are supportive and challenging of each other and are encouraged to make mistakes in order to learn from them.
Achieve:
At Whitefield Community Primary School, we use technology in order to support and demonstrate what we have achieved. We use technology as a tool to support learning. We follow the SAMR (Substitution, Augmentation, modification and redefinition) model in order to implement technology in the children’s everyday learning experiences. We use technology to research and gather knowledge, we carefully analyse the knowledge we have gathered in order to create new learning experiences through our use of technology. We use a range of technology including iPads, Laptops and digital cameras.
